Llandaff has spent most of Friday 17 December looking like it lives in a constantly shaken snow globe — and the Met Office predicts more. A few flashes of sunshine were quickly forgotten as many schools shuttered, pavements grew slick and the Twittersphere began to dub the day White Friday.
Take a look at Llandaff’s village area as it was around noon:
Across the river in Llandaff North, the new farmers’ market was forced to cancel its final Friday market of December. Organiser Steve Garrett of Riverside Community Market Association said in an email:
“So sorry we had to cancel the market today! Stallholders were too afraid of getting stuck and the [Railway pub] car park was under a foot of snow!”
However, the market will reopen in the new year on Friday 14 January, running fortnightly in the afternoons from 3 to 6:30 pm.
We know this isn’t every snowflake that fell today. So if you have some stunning photographs of your snowy home, snowman or snow adventure, we would love to see them. Send them to editor@llandaffnews.com, upload them to Flickr’s Llandaff group, tweet us a link or put a link in the comment below.
