Llandaff has spent most of Friday 17 December looking like it lives in a constantly shaken snow globe — and the Met Office predicts more. A few flashes of sunshine were quickly forgotten as many schools shuttered, pavements grew slick and the Twittersphere began to dub the day White Friday.

Meningitis Trust Christmas concert at Llandaff Cathedral

[ December 13, 2010; 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm. ] The Meningitis Trust hosts a Christmas concert at Llandaff Cathedral on Monday 13 December from 7:30 to 9 pm.

Performers include: Canton Salvation Army Band, Ynysowen Male Voice Choir, Joe Keenan, Alice Russell, West Park Primary School.

Tickets cost £8 nave and £4 side aisle. Call 0845 120 4989 or email christmas@meningitis-trust.org to purchase tickets in advance.

Noel concert in Llandaff Cathedral

[ December 18, 2010; 7:00 pm; ] The Llandaff Cathedral Choir will perform with the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama’s professional brass ensemble, Symphonic Brass, on Saturday 18 December at 7 pm in Llandaff Cathedral.

Llandaff Cathedral organist Richard Moorhouse will conduct the concert, with new assistant organist, James Norrey, playing the new organ.

[ November 25, 2010; 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. ] Light a Candle at Llandaff Cathedral on Thursday 25 November from noon in honour of International Day to End Violence Against Women, also known as White Ribbon Day.

Welsh Women’s Aid and BAWSO (Black Association of Women Step Out) are co-organising the event.

Launch of Llandaff Cathedral book at Llandaff Cathedral

[ November 28, 2010; 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm. ] The new book Llandaff Cathedral officially launches on Sunday 28 November from 12:30 to 2 pm at the Prebendal House in the Cathedral.

Publisher Seren Books states this is the first new book on the Cathedral for more than a century. Refreshments and guided tours of the Cathedral will be available.

Come and sing: Mozart’s Requiem at Llandaff Cathedral

[ November 13, 2010; 2:00 pm; ] Llandaff Cathedral invites people to come and sing “Mozart’s Requiem” as a fund raiser for the Organ Appeal. Rehearsals start at 2 pm, with a performance at 7:30 pm on Saturday 13 November.
