Llandaff has spent most of Friday 17 December looking like it lives in a constantly shaken snow globe — and the Met Office predicts more. A few flashes of sunshine were quickly forgotten as many schools shuttered, pavements grew slick and the Twittersphere began to dub the day White Friday.

A new farmers’ market began its three week trial in Llandaff North with a car park full of stalls selling food and drink. Riverside Community Market Association organised the event, which will open again on 10 and 17 December from 3 to 6:30 pm in the Railway pub parking lot.

Llandaff North will trial run three farmers’ market days this December in a bid to offer a regular Friday afternoon market.
On 3, 10, and 17 December — all Fridays — butchers, bakers, and craft stalls, among others, will sell their wares in The Railway Inn parking lot from 3 to 6:30 pm.
