Llandaff has spent most of Friday 17 December looking like it lives in a constantly shaken snow globe — and the Met Office predicts more. A few flashes of sunshine were quickly forgotten as many schools shuttered, pavements grew slick and the Twittersphere began to dub the day White Friday.

Farmers’ market opens in Llandaff North

A new farmers’ market began its three week trial in Llandaff North with a car park full of stalls selling food and drink. Riverside Community Market Association organised the event, which will open again on 10 and 17 December from 3 to 6:30 pm in the Railway pub parking lot.

Cardiff Council consultation on the Local Development Plan

[ December 2, 2010; 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. ] Cardiff Council will hold its fourth of four consultations on the Local Development Plan for the city. The consultation takes place on Thursday 2 December from 6:30 to 7:30 pm at Western Leisure Centre, Caerau Lane, Ely.

All people are welcome to attend and give their views on how Cardiff can regenerate the city. [...]

Cardiff Council consulstation on the Local Development Plan

[ December 1, 2010; 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. ] Cardiff Council will hold its third of four consultations on the Local Development Plan for the city. The consultation takes place on Wednesday 1 December from 6:30 to 7:30 pm at Whitchurch Community Centre, Old Church Road.

Llandaff North will trial run three farmers’ market days this December in a bid to offer a regular Friday afternoon market.
On 3, 10, and 17 December — all Fridays — butchers, bakers, and craft stalls, among others, will sell their wares in The Railway Inn parking lot from 3 to 6:30 pm.

Insole Court’s modern gardens at 50+ group

[ September 29, 2010; 10:00 am to 12:30 pm. ] Insole Court’s 50+ group discusses its gardens in the modern day. Peter Hamblin, operational manager for Cardiff West Parks, will speak on “The gardens of Insole Court, 2005-15″.
