Cardiff Council consultation on the Local Development Plan

[ December 2, 2010; 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. ] Cardiff Council will hold its fourth of four consultations on the Local Development Plan for the city. The consultation takes place on Thursday 2 December from 6:30 to 7:30 pm at Western Leisure Centre, Caerau Lane, Ely.

All people are welcome to attend and give their views on how Cardiff can regenerate the city. [...]

Opinion: Hawthorn School sale calls for compromise in Llandaff North

There are few issues in Llandaff North as contentious as the former Hawthorn Junior School building. Objectively, an architecturally uninteresting school building of which there are dozens in Cardiff, and hundreds in Wales. Subjectively, a building which has been the heart of Llandaff North village for more than 100 years and must not be lost. The pragmatic approach must lie between these two extremes.

Ely Road flats remain top Llandaff PACT priority

Ely Road’s Bannitt Flats remain the top priority for Llandaff policing after the November PACT meeting at Insole Court.
Problems reported about anti-social behaviour, keeping dogs on the premises, fly tipping and drug dealing continue at the development near the intersection at Western Avenue.

Boarded-up Hawthorn Junior School is up for sale on the Cardiff Council Property website, contrary to a local campaign to “Save the Hawthorn Junior School Building”.
Expressions of interest have been invited by Cardiff Council until noon on Monday 20 December, according to the website listing and council valuer Sue Singer.
