Llandaff has spent most of Friday 17 December looking like it lives in a constantly shaken snow globe — and the Met Office predicts more. A few flashes of sunshine were quickly forgotten as many schools shuttered, pavements grew slick and the Twittersphere began to dub the day White Friday.

Cardiff Council consultation on the Local Development Plan

[ December 2, 2010; 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. ] Cardiff Council will hold its fourth of four consultations on the Local Development Plan for the city. The consultation takes place on Thursday 2 December from 6:30 to 7:30 pm at Western Leisure Centre, Caerau Lane, Ely.

The Local Government Boundary Commission for Wales has decided to back down on its draft proposal to merge Llandaff and Llandaff North into a super ward within Cardiff, according to the commission’s final proposal.

Kalla Bella opened an hour early to a crowd of customers for Llandaff’s second of three coffee mornings. All proceeds go towards the High Street Decoration Fund, which helps beautify the village area.

Llandaff North Christmas Light Switch On

[ November 25, 2010; 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. ] Llandaff North will switch on its Christmas lights on Thursday 25 November from 6:30 to 7:30 pm on Station Road outside JR Lane Opticians. The fesitivities will include Santa Claus (also known as Lewys Wootten of Lew’s Cafe) in a moving sleigh.

Llandaff sips coffee to support High Street decor

Jaspers Tea Rooms helped warm up Llandaff’s High Street decoration fund with the first of three coffee mornings in the run up to Christmas.
From 10 am, the quaint little cafe at 6 High Street welcomed a surge of supporters.

Cardiff Model Railway Exhibition at UWIC Llandaff Campus

October 24, 2010; 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. ] The 25th Cardiff Model Railway Exhibition will be held at UWIC’s Llandaff Campus on the weekend of 23-24 October from 10 am to 5 pm both days. The event features model railways in all scales. Hot and cold refreshments are available on site.
