Film: South Wales at War with the Llandaff Society at Parish Hall

Launch of Llandaff Cathedral book at Llandaff Cathedral

[ November 28, 2010; 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm. ] The new book Llandaff Cathedral officially launches on Sunday 28 November from 12:30 to 2 pm at the Prebendal House in the Cathedral.

Publisher Seren Books states this is the first new book on the Cathedral for more than a century. Refreshments and guided tours of the Cathedral will be available.

Llandaff NSPCC Festive supper at Fairwater Conservative Club

[ December 8, 2010; 7:30 pm; ] The NSPCC Llandaff committee host its annual festive supper at Fairwater Conservative Club on Wednesday 8 December from 7:30 pm for 8. The supper is a black tie affair featuring the Twing Twang ukulele band.

More than 50 coffee drinkers — nearly all women — sipped their hot drinks in Llandaff’s Parish Hall to raise money for the NSPCC on Tuesday morning.
“The same people have been coming for years,” Llandaff’s NSPCC committee secretary Jan Joynson said. “It’s fantastic.”

NSPCC benefit coffee morning at Llandaff Parish Hall

[ November 16, 2010; 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. ] The NSPCC will hold a coffee morning at Llandaff’s Parish Hall on Tuesday 16 November from 10:30 am to noon to benefit the charity. Bring and buy stalls will be inside the building. Tickets cost £2 per person.

The annual Armistice Ceremony at Llandaff’s Cathedral Green will be remembered as an extremely wet and windy affair this year. Despite the awful weather, the ceremony grew with a higher turnout of people who came to hear the service, lay poppy wreaths and take part in the two minutes of silence and reflection.

Llandaff and Llandaff North to remain separate wards within Cardiff

The Local Government Boundary Commission for Wales has decided to back down on its draft proposal to merge Llandaff and Llandaff North into a super ward within Cardiff, according to the commission’s final proposal.

Llandaff sips up second coffee morning to support village decoration fund

Kalla Bella opened an hour early to a crowd of customers for Llandaff’s second of three coffee mornings. All proceeds go towards the High Street Decoration Fund, which helps beautify the village area.
